Russia is going to help Iran to electrify the Garmsar-Incheh Borun railway, Iran Transport Ministry’s website reported November 4.
Meanwhile, the Russian Railways plans to open a local office in Iran.
Russian Railways has already electrified the Tabriz-Azarshahr railway for Iran.
Iranian and Russian ministries of transport recently signed an MoU on closer cooperation. The sides agreed there to launch a joint company for producing state-of-the-art rails.
The agreement also said Russia would help Iran with financing railway projects.
