The U.S. embassy to Azerbaijan has denied information, spread by The Times newspaper about holding secret negotiations between Iran and the US in Baku.

The U.S. embassy in Azerbaijan has denied information, spread by The Times newspaper about holding secret negotiations between Iran and the US in Baku.

"This story is completely untrue. There are no such trade talks involving U.S. government officials, nor have there been. We are not currently considering opening a trade office, and we have had no conversations, and have no plans to engage in conversations, in trade talks or any talks similar to those described in this misleading news story", said in statement of embassy in response to request by Trend Agency.

The Times newspaper published information about holding secret negotiations between Iran and the US in Baku.

Earlier, the head of the World Trade Center of Tehran Mohammad Reza Sabzalipour denied this information and called it untrue.

"The information spread by The Times newspaper about holding secret negotiations between Iran and the US in Baku is untrue", Sabzalipour told Trend on Nov.10.
