Iranian, US teams hold 4th round of nuclear talks

Diplomatic and expert teams from Iran and the US are holding their 4th round of talks on Tehran's nuclear program.

Held in Laussane, Switzerland, the talks are attended in the diplomatic camp by US Secretary of State John Kerry and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Helga Schmid, representing the European Union is also among the diplomats attending the talks, Fars news agency reported March 18.

In the technical camp, there are Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi and the US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz. The two held 2 hours of talks on Wednesday morning.

US Under Secretary of State in Political Affairs Wendy Sherman and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi also held an hour of talks the same day.

The current round of talks started on Monday and will end on Friday.

The two teams held their last meeting on March 16, which lasted 7 hours.

The meetings follow intense talks on Tehran's nuclear program with the P5+1 group (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany).

The sides have agreed to reach a political understanding by the end of March, and a comprehensive deal by July 1.
