Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that he discussed the Syrian crisis during a meeting with his Russian counterpart in Baku.
Zarif had a meeting with Azerbaijani and Russian FMs - Elmar Mammadyarov and Sergei Lavrov in Baku Apr. 7.
Speaking to reporters in the Azerbaijani capital on Thursday, Zarif said he and Lavrov talked the necessity of continuing the coordination between Iran and Russia over the Syrian crisis.
He added that the Iranian and Russian sides also discussed the JCPOA (aka nuclear agreement) and its implementation, as well as the ways to have the Western side fulfill their commitments regarding the deal.
Iran and the P5+1 reached a comprehensive nuclear agreement, implemented in mid-January 2016.
The agenda of the three FMs' meeting in Baku included exchange of views on issues of mutual interest in regional cooperation, in particular the implementation of bilateral and trilateral projects, as well as the North-South transportation corridor, regional security issues, including the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
