The Egyptian army has started pulling heavy military equipment to the center of Cairo, where demonstrators, supporters of the ousted president Mohammed Morsi, began to gather, Anadolu reported on Friday.

It is reported that the tanks and special equipment are being pulled to the center of Cairo from the provinces of Ismailiyya and Suez.

The Muslim Brotherhood movement is planning to hold mass protests in Cairo after Friday prayers on August 16. The procession called "The Friday of Wrath" will commence following the prayers from all the mosques of Cairo.

The death toll during the army crackdown on protesters, supporters of ex-President Mohammed Morsi, has increased to 680.

On Wednesday, the Egyptian army launched a crackdown on demonstrators, supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi, using military equipment and firearms.

The Muslim Brotherhood leaders claim that nearly 2,000 people were killed during the crackdown and about 15,000 civilians injured.
