ANAS: Age limit may have exceptions for some scientists

Azerbaijan, Baku, May 26 / Trend E.Ismayilov /

There may be stipulated exceptions in regard to some scientists while amending the 'Law on Civil Service', providing for the definition of the age limit at 65 years for employees of the state agencies, President of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS)
Mahmud Karimov told journalists on Thursday.

He an individual attitude is required in relation to this issue.
"Today, there are scientists who are in their 70-80 years work better than many young scientists. Thus, there surely will be some exceptions, because this is science. There should be no age restrictions. However, this would be a great excuse to say goodbye to
scientists who lost a scientific potential," Karimov said.

According to the amendments to the Law on Civil Service, the maximum age limit for civil servants is 65 years.
