Turkish police began to disperse demonstrators on the Taksim Square in Istanbul on Wednesday morning, CNN Türk TV channel reported.
A group of supporters of the opposition Republican People's Party of Turkey is holding a procession in honor of May 1 - International Workers' Day in the center of Istanbul.
Yesterday Istanbul Mayor Huseyin Avni Mutlu said that the Mayor's Office has not allowed holding a procession in honor of May 1, therefore, any rally will be considered unauthorized.
Mass procession of workers is annually held in Turkey on May 1, which often ends in clashes with police.
