Kazakhstan has launched the "Kazakhstan" national rocket artillery ship on Wednesday, the Defense Ministry said.

This event is significant as this is the first ship built by the Zenith Urals plant. It will be added to the naval armory to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's army.

According to the report, Kazakh Deputy Defense Minister Sergei Gromov noted that today the military complex is rapidly developing.

The ship is intended to execute combat missions in the Caspian Sea. Its full displacement is 250 tons.

The ship is equipped with missile and artillery weapons, modern communications, navigation weapons. In the future, naval forces of Kazakhstan's army will be augmented by two more vessels of a similar project. In the current year it is planned to commission a training station for damage control, which will be launched in 2016. This is another domestic plant project for the Ministry of Defence.

At present Ural Plant of Zenith is part of the military-industrial complex. Technical and production capabilities of the enterprise conform to all requirements of the Maritime Register of shipping to carry out the design, construction, refurbishment, modernization and repair of ships, hull structure, ship equipment, which allows to manufacture ships and boats with a displacement of 500 tons.
