Tajik Foreign Ministry condemns the statement of Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Bokiri Harrozi, who said during his campaign that Tajikistan, Armenia and Azerbaijan would be returned to Iran if he becomes the president of Iran.
As stated in Tajik Foreign Ministry's official report, the statement of head of Iranian Ansori Hezbollah party who is a relative of the former Iranian Foreign Minister, created surprise and regret in different cultural and political circles of Tajikistan.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the first states to recognize the Republic of Tajikistan as an independent country and open its embassy on the territory of the country. Thereafter, for over 20 years, Tajikistan and Iran have been establishing interstate relations on the basis of the existing international law regulations and the Charter of the United Nations, and today the countries continue beneficial multifaceted cooperation," the statement said.
