Iran will release two Kuwaiti citizens who were detained on spying charges, the Kuwaiti media reported referring to official sources in Kuwait.

The Kuwaiti citizens were arrested in Iranian city of Abadan. Governor of Abadan Bahram Ilkhas-zadeh said spying devices were seized from the arrested, Fars news agency reported earlier.

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabakh Khaled Al-Sabakh asked his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi to help in release of the detainees, Kuna news agency reported.

Salehi said they will take their utmost to release the Kuwaiti citizens in the next couple of days.

Reportedly, the Kuwaitis were arrested on Friday, by the Iranian intelligence ministry forces. Local Kuwaiti media named the two as Adel al-Yahya, a lawyer by profession and a presenter at Al-Adalah satellite channel, and freelance cameraman Raed al-Majed.
