There are still other means which can be used as tools for pressure against Iran and expand the sanctions, U.S. Department of State spokesman for Iran Alan Eyre said during the online q&a session on March 15 via the Google+Hangout Service.
Alan Eyre was participating in an online q&a session, carried out by the U.S. State Department. The online discussion focused on the recent events happening in Iran.
Head of Trend's Persian News Service Dalga Khatinoglu and four other journalists of world media outlets were participating.
Answering Radio Farda's representative on Iranian sanctions, Eyre noted that the U.S. has used all means against Iran by imposing sanctions on the Islamic Republic, adding that there are still ways to pressure Iran into discontinuing its nuclear program.
"We want to solve this problem diplomatically but diplomatic window is gradually closing down," Eyre underscored.
Speaking about Iran's cooperation with IAEA, a question asked by Voice of America's representative, Eyre said that there is no other choice for Iran, if it wants to prove the peaceful nature of its nuclear program.
"So far, Iran claimed its nuclear program is peaceful, but if it is so, then why hasn't Iran cooperated with IAEA? The aim of the sanctions is Iranian government, however Iranian citizens also feel the impact, since there is no other choice," Eyre said.
