Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has met with German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dirk Niebel.
The sides discussed prospects for deepening economic cooperation between the countries, and future plans, the administration of Georgian President said on Friday. Carried out and planned projects in Georgia were also discussed.
"Your visit is very important to us. A few weeks ago, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany visited Georgia, and you have arrived now. It means that cooperation between our countries further deepened," the president said.
In turn, Dirk Niebel paid special attention to implemented successful economic projects and noted that there is an interesting and attractive investment environment for German businessmen. He said the German side is ready to implement joint projects in energy sphere, and in terms of municipal infrastructure projects in Tbilisi and Batumi.
The German government will allocate 52 million euros to Georgia in the form of concessional loans, as well as 5.2 million euros as a grant. Governmental agreement on this issue has already been signed.
