The third meeting of the EU-Georgia cooperation subcommittee on energy, transport and environment was held in Tbilisi.
According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, this subcommittee is one of the formats of the EU-Georgian political dialogue established in 2010. A meeting of the subcommittee, as well as other institutions of EU-Georgia cooperation, is held every year at director level in Brussels and Tbilisi. The first meeting was held in Tbilisi on October 21, 2010.
Director of the Georgian Foreign Ministry's European Integration Department Tea Akhvlediani and Head of the European External Action Service, Division for the 'Eastern Partnership - Bilatera', John Kjaer, were co-chairpersons of the subcommittee.
The sides had in depth discussions on the reforms carried out in Georgia in the field of energy, transport and environment, key priorities and dynamics of relations between Georgia and the EU in these areas and prospects of their development within the subcommittee.
Both sides assessed a meeting of the subcommittee positively. The European side stressed Georgia's achievements in these areas over the past year.
