The main Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has brought new charges against Tbilisi's mayor.
Gigi Ugulava was charged with creation of a criminal group in order to misappropriate budgetary funds, a representative of the Prosecutor's Office said.
The case concerns the embezzlement of 48 million lari ($ 1 = 1.70 lari) from Tbilisi Rehabilitation and Development Fund.
The mayor was earlier accused of embezzling assets from Imedi TV and of racketeering related to Rike Park.
Ugulava is being interrogated by the Prosecutor's Office.
Action in support of Gigi Ugulava is being held in front of main Prosecutor's Office. Leaders of the "National Movement", employees of Sakrebulo and Tbilisi City Hall are on the scene.
