As a part of the election campaign, chairman of Armenian Republican Party, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan left for Lori, where he met with voters in town of Alaverdi, 7or.am reported.

As a part of the election campaign, chairman of Armenian Republican Party, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan left for Lori, where he met with voters in town of Alaverdi, 7or.am reported.

In his speech Sargsyan mentioned emigration issues. He said repatriation is the main task, which must be met in the next few years.

"Population is as small as it can be. However, this problem concerns not only the state, but all of us. We have to create a relevant atmosphere," Sargsyan concluded.

The sixth Armenian presidential election will be held Feb. 18 from 08:00 to 20:00 local time. The head of state is elected for five years.

Those running for the presidency are the incumbent president and ruling Republican Party leader Serzh Sargsyan, former Prime Minister Grant Bagratyan, chairman of the Heritage Party Raffi Hovhannisyan, Paruyr Hayrikyan, Arman Melikyan, Andreas Ghukasyan, Vardan Setrakyan and the leader of the National Accord Party Aram Harutyunyan.
