The Georgian government approved a presidential decree on the date of elections to the local self-government - June 15 at a meeting on April 14.
The presidential order will come into force upon its posting on the website of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the country, Parliamentary Secretary to the Georgian government Shalva Tadumadze said after a meeting.
"The Georgian president signed a decree on April 10," Tadumadze said. "According to it, the approximate date for the elections is June 15, 2014. Today, the government has approved this decision. The local self-government elections are scheduled for June 15. Thereafter, the document will be sent back to the Presidential Administration. It will enter into force upon its placement on the CEC website."
