PM: Turkey to end immoral politics on March 30

Turkey's PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged his supporters not to be provoked by the attacks against his Justice and Development (AK) Party government but to hit back against opposition parties by voting for it, Anadolu Agency reported.

"Our nation will end the immoral politics on March 30," said Erdogan, referring to the wiretappings and the probe operations against top figures of the AK Party government, including several ministers and Erdogan himself.

Erdogan said that upcoming elections to be held on Sunday should not be considered simply as local elections, but as a pointer towards the general election.

Erdogan said that the elections were like the independence struggle of the nation, because they were struggling against an alliance against his party - including that on the opposition parties, self-interest lobbyists, media groups, businessmen, the US-based scholar Fethulah Gulen's movement and some terrorist organizations plotting against the government.

Slamming the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Erdogan said the Turkish people had not voted for the CHP to come to power since 1950 because they know of its oppressive policies.
