Azerbaijan, Baku, 13 February / corr Trend K.Ramazanova / The Bangladeshi Government sent a letter to thanks to Azerbaijan for its assistance to people who suffered from the powerful Cyclone Sidr, which devastated coastal regions of Bangladesh on 15 November, the Azerbaijani Embassy in India reported over the telephone from Delhi on 13 February.
The storm brought winds with speeds up to 240 km per hour and heavy rain. The natural calamity killed at least 169 people and thousands of people were left homeless. Thousands of people were placed in shelters built by the government.
