SOCAR ups gas production at offshore field

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic's (SOCAR) May 28th Oil-and-Gas Production Unit (OGPU) increased its daily gas output by 500,000 cubic meters after commissioning three new wells, a company source said on Feb. 10.

Earlier the OGPU commissioned the Guneshli-13 platform. The OGPU develops Guneshli field.

The well's depth is 3,900 meters.

Its daily output is 200,000 cubic meters of gas and 50 tons of gas condensate.

Gunashli-13 was installed with plans to drill 20 wells in May 2004.

Roughly 12 wells have been drilled in four years.

Around 2.5 million cubic meters of natural gas, 660 tons of oil and 300 tons of condensate are produced at the platform daily.

Guneshli is the biggest oil-and-gas field developed by SOCAR using its own resources.

Some 60 percent of SOCAR's oil production and 70 percent of the company's gas production are developed at the field.

The 28 May Oil and Gas Production Unity (OGPU) of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (Socar) increased daily gas output by 500,000 cubic meters by putting three new prolific wells into exploitation, Socar said on Feb. 10.

Earlier, the OGPU which develops Guneshli field put next prolific well into exploitation at the Guneshli-13 platform.

Depth of the well is 3,900 meters and its daily output amounts to 200,000 cubic meters if gas and 50 tons of gas condensate.

The Gunashli-13 platform which was designated for drilling of 20 wells was installed in May 2004. Roughly 12 wells were drilled on it and handed to operation fund within four years. Around 2.5 million cubic meters of natural gas, 660 tons of oil and 300 tons of condensate are produced per day from the platform.

Guneshli is the biggest oil and gas field, which is developed by SOCAR at its own funds. Some 60 percent of total oil production and 70 percent of the total gas production developed by SOCAR fall on this field.
