Introducing the fourth generation (4G) communication standard in Azerbaijan will be actual within subsequent few months, Bakcell Chief Commercial Director Krassimir Genov told Trend on Saturday.

Genov said building 4G network will be carried out by adapting an existing network, and its deployment will be after receiving the required license for it.

"The 4G network more focuses on data transmission rather than voice services. Entirely different DATA-cards are required to use data transmission services. On the other hand, the advantage of 4G network will be more interesting for the narrow circle of users, for example, for architects, who need to download the "heavy" files. Peak data transmission speed in 4G network is 100 Mbit/s, which allows downloading and viewing online content without any delays," Genov said.

According to Genov, the benefits that 3G network provides will be enough for consumers and for the corporate sector. At present, only about 25 percent of the population has the phones that support 3G standard.

"Introducing 3G network will increase the demand for phones that support this standard. Those who have 3G phones will be more inclined to purchase smartphones to use additional applications, such as weather forecast application, or the application for financial records, etc. The phone will concentrate all: debit card, credit card, discount cards, etc." Genov said.

According to Genov, the company's pricing policy for services rendered is no less important. Deployment of 3G network has already affected the tariffs for services rendered by the operator. Today company offers packages of services, which include a large volume of traffic at more affordable prices.
