U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Eric Rubin will today arrive in Baku on a two-day official visit, the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend on Tuesday.
Within his visit he will meet with civil society and state officials. The meeting is expected to discuss urgent issues and development of bilateral relations.
Eric Rubin, who recently served as the deputy U.S. ambassador to Russia, had been appointed the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs. His responsibilities include supervision of the South Caucasus countries, Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus.
A career diplomat, Rubin replaced Tina Kaidanow in this post, who was appointed as the First Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs.
