BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. The OSCE reaffirms its commitment to strengthening partnership with Azerbaijan, the Secretary General of the OSCE, Feridun Sinirlioğlu, said at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Baku, Trend reports.
“I am pleased to be in Baku today on my first official visit as OSCE Secretary General. The purpose of my visit is to reaffirm the OSCE's strong commitment to our long-standing partnership with Azerbaijan, as well as to all efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region,” he said.
According to the Secretary General, dialog and diplomacy should remain the basis of efforts on the way to a sustainable and lasting peace - a peace based on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states. He also noted that the OSCE will continue cooperation with Azerbaijan in such important areas as promotion of economic regional connectivity and combating climate change.
