The state structures of Azerbaijan will accelerate work on the introduction of electronic services, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan said on Saturday.

The decision was taken on the results of a meeting of Coordination Group on the implementation of Electronic Azerbaijan state program and an action plan on Electronic Government, held yesterday at the Ministry with the participation of authorized representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and other government agencies.

Chairman of the Coordinating Board, the Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Iltimas Mammadov gave appropriate instructions on the existing problems, noting the importance of introducing e-services in the short term.

According to the decree of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev "On some measures in the field of provision of electronic services by public authorities" on May 23, 2011, work implemented in this area by every state structure and problems in this area were discussed at the meeting.

Center of the issuance of an electronic signature, Electronic Government (ehdis.az) portal, gateway providing information exchange between state agencies, as well as register "electronic services" are created in Azerbaijan.

Currently there are 56 e-services of 14 state agencies on the Electronic government portal.
