The market share of the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system in Azerbaijan increased by 0.44 per cent in January-February, Global Stats statistical center reported on Saturday.
Windows 7 operating system is popular in Azerbaijan and accounts for 64.31 percent of the market. Compared to the same period of 2012, the market share of Windows 7 increased by 32.4 percent.
Windows XP ranks second with a share of 30.08 percent. The market share of Windows XP fell by 1.32 per cent in January-February, a decline of 37.1 percent as compared to the same period last year.
Some changes were observed in statistical calculations of Global Stats. The company withdrew Microsoft Vista OS from the statistical reporting, replacing it by Windows 8.
According to the Global Stats, from the beginning of the year market share of Windows 8 has grown by 37 percent, reaching 1.59 percent.
Also, in January-February a decline of 2.28 percent was registered on MacOSX, which accounts for 0.86 per cent of the market. Over the past period a 46.15 per cent growth was recorded in the number of installations of iOS, which accounts for 1.52 percent of Azerbaijani market of operating systems.
