Azerbaijani postal operator - Azerpoct LLC - will launch a system of urgent money transfers, STEFI (Secured Transfer of Electronic Financial Information) jointly with Kyrgyzs postal operator, Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry told Trend on Feb. 17.
The service is expected to be launched in mid-March. Use of the STEFI system will allow the Azerbaijani postal operator to carry out urgent money transfers in 30 minutes.
Also currently tests for launching the system in Tajikistan are underway.
Azerbaijani postal operator offers urgent money transfer services to Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Kazakhstan and the UAE via the STEFI system.
The prospective implementation of this service in money transfers to Uzbekistan, Estonia and Latvia is being reviewed.
Azerbaijani postal operator's main advantage lies in the fact that the incomes generated within these transactions remain under the company's disposal.
The STEFI system has been developed by the Postal Technology Center of the Universal Postal Union and makes it possible to shift from paper exchanges to the electronic ones.
