Azerbaijani primary provider - Delta Telecom intends to reduce the rental cost of channels for Internet service providers, Delta Telecom technical director Atesh Rzayev told Trend on April 9.

"The tariffs offered to Internet service providers are annually reduced by 30-40 percent," he said.

"It mainly occurs in summer," he said. "This year the further decline will traditionally fall to mid-year. Certainly, the customer base of Internet service providers plays an important role in the formation of Delta Telecom's tariffs. For example, a provider with a large customer base, acquires more capacity. The more capacity the provider buys, the more benefits he gets."

The rental fee reduction will allow providers to reduce the prices on the Internet for end users, chairman of the Internet community of Azerbaijan Galib Gurbanov told Trend earlier.

Delta Telecom's tariffs for the international communication channel rent envisage a fixed cost of 15 manat for each additionally purchased traffic at 1 gigabit second above the leased capacity of 100 gigabits second. Previously, the rate was 25 manat. In general, the rental cost was reduced by more than 3.3 times for the last three years.

The official exchange rate is 0.7844 AZN/USD on April 10.
