The Israeli Ambassador, Artur Lenk, set up two-day tour of the western regions of Azerbaijan on Thursday. He started his tour from a visit to the Mausoleum of Nizami Ganjavi, a great Azerbaijani poet (1141-1209), in Ganja.

Later he held a meeting with the head of the Ganja Executive Power, Eldar Azizov. In the end of the meeting Lenk gave a news conference. The diplomat appreciated the perspectives of the development of agriculture in the western region and voiced the Israeli businessmen’s readiness to assist in the expansion of the agriculture production.

He also noted that it was planned to carry out two projects. The first is the Azerbaijani-Israeli business-forum in Guba, which is scheduled for February 2006. The second is the agriculture exhibition in Tel-Aviv in May 2006 with the participation of the Azerbaijani businessmen.

According to the diplomat, it is also planned to set up joint ventures for production of ameliorative and irrigation devices in Azerbaijan.
