Trend I.Alizade / The National Forum of Non-Governmental Organizations of Azerbaijan presented to the Parliament of Azerbaijan the law draft to improve the legislation regarding NGOs, the Chairman of the Forum, Azay Guliyev, said. According to him, the presented projects are expected to be considered in Parliament this year.
Guliyev stressed that the law draft "On NGOs, Public Unions and Foundations" has been divided into two sections. The law "On public unions and foundations" will be considered separately. "Charitable activities have been wrongly interpreted in Azerbaijan and therefore, a law draft "On charitable activities" has been submitted to the Parliament. In addition, a law draft has been devised "On volunteers". According to our records, 225,000 volunteers function in Azerbaijan as NGOs," Guliyev said.
