The Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan will create headquarters in connection with the first European Games 2015 in Baku, Minister of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov said May 29 during the meeting of the Operating Committee of the first European Games.
He said that the headquarters under the ministry will be working around the clock as of June 2 and until the end of the European Games, carrying out control over the quality of telecommunication services provided.
The minister believes that there are key points that may entail certain problems requiring prompt solution.
Abbasov mentioned the defense against possible invasion in air space of the country, ensuring a high level of information security, the protection of the radio frequencies, the quality of mobile connection, data services as examples.
Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.
There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
