Hungarian athletes leave for Baku to participate in European Games

Budapest hosted an event dedicated to the participation of the Hungarian athletes at the first European Games 2015 in Baku under the organization of the National Olympic Committee of Hungary and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in this country, the message of Azerbaijani Embassy in Hungary said June 3.
The message said that Hungary will be represented by more than 200 athletes at the first European Games in Baku. The Hungarian team will consist of a total of 300 athletes and coaches, according to the message.
Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Hungary Bence Szabó, who delivered a speech at the event, said that the first European Games in Baku will open a new page in the history of European sport, according to the message.
In turn, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Hungary Vilayat Guliyev spoke about the care and attention paid for the development of sport in Azerbaijan.
He said that Baku 2015 European Games Operations Committee (BEGOC) carried out all the necessary work for holding the Games at a high level.
The message said that the Hungarian athletes will start arriving in Baku from June 6.
Baku 2015 is the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place on June 12-28, 2015.
There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
