Azerbaijani wrestler Hasan Aliyev (weight category of up to 66 kg) proceeded to the 1/8 finals in the Greco-Roman wrestling qualifications as part of the Baku 2015 European Games.
He defeated Sachino Davitaia from Georgia, 4: 2.
The Greco-Roman wrestling qualifications kicked off in Baku on June 14 as part of the European Games.
Three more Azerbaijani wrestlers, Elvin Mursaliyev (75 kg), Saman Tahmasebi (85 kg) and Sabahi Shariati (130 kg) will also compete.
Azerbaijan already has a gold medal, a silver medal and a bronze medal in the wrestling events as part of the Baku 2015 European Games.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
