Azerbaijani archer hopes to show better result at European Games
Baku, Azerbaijan, June 16
By Huseyn Veliyev - Trend:
A member of the Azerbaijani team in archery at the European Games, Taras Senyuk hopes to show a better result in the competitions, he told Trend June 16.
"Unfortunately, I was not able to show the good result in the second distance as I did in the first, and I lost a few points, which means I lost some places, and I am dissatisfied with that," he said.
Azerbaijani athlete said that the results would be satisfactory if the number of points was at least five more. "But that's okay, because our struggle is carried out mainly in solo competitions, while shooting is carried out by two athletes," he said.
"I hope to show a better result at these competitions," said Senyuk. "Every athlete has a chance and can win. So I will be doing my best."
The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
