Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev took part on June 17 in the ceremony of awarding the winners of the men's 97 kg freestyle wrestling event held as part of the Baku 2015 European Games.
The Azerbaijani wrestler, Khetag Gazyumov defeated the Georgian athlete Elizbar Odikadze in the final match of the wrestling event winning another gold medal for Azerbaijan at the Baku 2015.
Valerii Andriitsev (Ukraine) and Abdusalam Gadisov (Russia) shared the bronze medals, both coming in the third place.
Ilham Aliyev personally awarded the athletes with medals.
The Azerbaijani national wrestling squad already has several gold, silver and bronze medals at the Baku 2015 European Games.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
