The First European Games is a grandiose event, Ana Rente, Portuguese gymnast, bronze medal winner at Baku 2015 told Trend June 21.
She said that such large-scale events were not held in Europe before.
The First European Games is a great opportunity for the athletes to gain experience, according to Rente.
She added that the European Games have been organized at a high level.
Good conditions have been created in the Athletes Village and the National Gymnastics Arena is very convenient, Rente said.
Another Portuguese gymnast Beatriz Martins said that the First European Games are very important for her, adding that the European Games play an important role for the young athletes.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
