The First International Defense Industry Exhibition ADEX-2014 is over in Baku, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industry said Sept. 13.
The exhibition was organized on the initiative and with the support of the Ministry of Defense Industry of the country. Around 200 companies and 20 official representatives from 34 countries attended the exhibition. The exhibits of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, the Republic of Korea, Poland, Israel and Ukraine were presented.
Around 168 exhibits were presented at a 1,000 square meter area of Azerbaijan's national pavilion. It should be stressed that the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industry demonstrated 27 exhibits for the first time at an international exhibition in 2009.
The bilateral meetings of Defense Industry Minister Yavar Jamalov, other officials of the ministry and the representatives of the majority of the participating companies were held during the exhibition. The issues of mutual interest were discussed.
The international delegations and foreign companies' great interest in ADEX-2014 once again confirmed a great role and importance of Azerbaijan as an important strategic partner and as a symbol of reliable partnership in the region.
Besides local and international specialists, military experts and representatives of state agencies and companies, there were students of the faculty of special equipment and technologies of the Azerbaijan Technical University created upon the Ministry of Defense Industry's order.
Local and international media have shown great interest in the exhibition.
The conference "Modern methods of war and security challenges" was held during the exhibition.
