Gas pipelines with a total length of 1,100 km were built by SOCAR Georgia Gas across the country and 34,000 subscribers were supplied with gas in 2014, the Sputnik Georgia news agency said with reference to the message of the company Sept. 24.

The number of SOCAR Georgia Gas subscribers for eight months of 2015 increased by 10.27 percent and amounted to 475,737 people. The company rendered service to 378,778 subscribers in 2014, according to the agency.

In comparison with January-August 2014, the number of subscribers increased by 14.39 percent.

The highest growth was recorded in 2013. During the reporting period, the number of subscribers increased by 218.3 percent (by 215, 261 subscribers).

The number of potential and existing subscribers of SOCAR Georgia Gas has increased by 439.4 percent (from 83,449 to 430,304 subscribers) in 2010-2015.

SOCAR Georgia Gas carries out gas supply to Georgia according to the plan agreed with the ministry of energy. The document includes a list of towns and villages in which it is planned to carry out the work on gas supply in the reporting period.

SOCAR Georgia Gas participates in the gas supply program since 2008. Gas supply of 230 towns and villages on a national scale was implemented, as well as a pipeline with a total length of 3,500 kilometers built within the framework of the first phase of the program envisaged for 2008-2013. The conducted work made it possible for 175,000 new subscribers to connect to the distribution grid for the period.

Memorandum on the implementation of the second phase of the gas supply program was signed between the government of Georgia and SOCAR Georgia Gas in 2013. The second stage covers the period from 2013 to 2017. Gas pipelines with a length of 1,100 kilometers were built throughout the country and 34,000 subscribers supplied with gas in 2014.

SOCAR Georgia Gas will complete the large-scale gas supply project in 2017.
