Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plans to increase the number of seats on its aircraft operating low-cost flights, AZAL Vice-President Arif Mammadov told Trend Oct. 23.
He said the number of seats will be increased before the start of the summer season.
"We will re-equip planes to make them more spacious," he said. "It is planned to increase the number of seats from 160 to 170. This will be done by the summer season, when there is an increase in passenger traffic on our low-cost routes, especially to Antalya."
AZAL started operating the first low-cost flights to Antalya on Aug. 7.
These flights are conducted three times a week, will be operated until Oct. 23, that is, the end of tourism season.
Below are the low-cost flight routes of Azerbaijan Airlines:
- Baku-Antalya-Baku - three times a week, starting in August 2015;
- Baku-Istanbul-Baku - one flight daily, starting in September 2015;
- Baku-Moscow-Baku - two flights daily, starting in October 2015;
- Baku-Dubai-Baku - one flight daily, starting in October 2015.
The flights are operated using the Embraer aircraft.
