Elmikhan Nabiyev, board chairman at the closed Atrabank, has been arrested, the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office told Trend Nov. 29.
Nabiyev is charged under Article 308.2 (abuse of official powers entailing grave consequences).
As part of consistent measures for combating corruption offenses, the Anti-Corruption General Directorate under the Prosecutor General’s Office reviewed the files sent by the Azerbaijan Deposit Insurance Fund in connection with the illegal actions of former employees of Atrabank OJSC, which is being liquidated.
At present, the necessary investigative measures are underway.
