A new small sewing enterprise will open in Azerbaijan's Oghuz city in April 2019, Sakina Babayeva, the head of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan, told Trend.

The initiator of the idea was the Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Babayeva noted.

"The goal of our organization is to provide real support for the development of small and medium female entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, therefore we are putting maximum efforts into this matter. Of course, we also need the support of state bodies, departmental organizations, because opening new enterprises requires financial expenses, organizational efforts and so on," Babayeva said.

She noted that the sewing enterprise is being established at the expense of the women entrepreneurs who are members of the association.

"Supposedly 11-15 women will work at the enterprise. The members of our association conducted relevant training with them, so we can say that everything is ready for the beginning of the working process," she said.

The Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan was created with the support of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan and was established in October 2017.

Over 143,000 women are engaged in business in Azerbaijan, according to statistics.
