A decision has been made to introduce new online cash registers in Azerbaijan, First Deputy Head of the Education Center of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Taxes Mirali Kazimov said.

He made the statement while speaking at the forum “Educational Business Forum - Current Situation and Prospects” organized by Azerbaijan’s Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), Trend reports.

He said that under the condition that people will demand receipts upon purchase, the use of new cash registers will lead to transparency of the activities of merchant entrepreneurs.

Kazimov noted that in this regard, the ministry got acquainted with the experience of Switzerland and believes that the introduction of this system in Azerbaijan will create an excellent basis for achieving transparency.

This also indicates that the public will be directly involved in the work of government bodies, he added. He said that the use of online cash registers will significantly reduce the number of tax audits.
