Azerbaijan’s hazelnut processing factory talks production volumes

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6

By Matanat Nasibova - Trend:

Hazelnut processing factory operating in Azerbaijan’s Zagatala district has increased the production volumes by 10-12 percent from the beginning of 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, a source at the factory told Trend.

“Since the beginning of this year the factory has processed over 250 tons of hazelnut. At the same time it’s planned to increase the hazelnut production volumes to 1,400 tons at the end of this year. The volume of the enterprise’s production made up nearly 1,200 tons in the past year. This year it was also planned to increase the export to Russia, accounting for 80-85 percent of the products. The export to Russia was carried out in January, February of this year,” the source noted.

“The factory exports kernels of peeled hazelnuts, including roasted and chopped hazelnuts, and also sells them in small volumes on the domestic market. A small production volume also accounts for hazelnut flour sold on the local market,” said the source.

The factory’s products have a Certificate of Conformity issued by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan. There is also a confirmation code No.AZE 6231 120 for exporting products to European Union countries.

The factory operates with equipment manufactured in Turkey.
