Azerbaijan’s Jalilabad winery talks about export plans

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10

Trend:

Azerbaijan’s biggest Jalilabad winery producing alcoholic beverages plans to increase the export potential, a source in the winery told Trend.

Previously, the winery planned to export 100,000 bottles to the foreign countries.

"The Chinese market was considered as the primary market,” the source said. “In accordance with the existing agreements, the winery planned to supply about 80,000 bottles of wine to this market. Due to the situation related to the spread of coronavirus, the export dates were postponed until summer.”

Nevertheless, it is planned to increase the export potential up to 20-25 percent this year. Today, about 20 percent of the products are sold on the domestic market. The remaining volumes of products are intended for export.

Some 180,000 decaliters of wine were produced at the winery in 2019, which is 19 percent more than in 2018.

"As many as 20,000-22,000 bottles of wine are produced daily,” the source said. “This year, it is planned to increase the production volume up to 25,000 bottles per day, as well as expand the export volume by 15-20 percent.”

The winery produces over 12 types of alcoholic beverages, including cognac alcohol.

The winery's products have a certificate of conformity issued by the Azerbaijani State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents.

The Italian and Bulgarian equipment has been installed in the winery.
