Exports of Turkish-made jewelry to Azerbaijani markets plummet

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 19

Jewelry exports from Turkey to Azerbaijan plunged by 89.3 percent from January through November 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $572,000, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend.

In November 2020, Turkey’s jewelry exports to Azerbaijan massively decreased by 91 percent compared to November 2019 and stood at $83,000, said the ministry.

“In 11M2020, exports of Turkish-made jewelry to global markets dropped by 9.1 percent compared to 11M2019, amounting to $3.45 billion. At the same time, Turkey’s jewelry exports made up 2.3 percent of the country's total exports,” the ministry report reads.

In November 2020, Turkey exported jewelry worth $312.3 million to international markets, which is 0.3 percent more compared to the same month of 2019.

As reported, jewelry exports of Turkey in November 2020 accounted for 1.9 percent of the country's total exports.

Over the past 12 months (from November 2019 through November 2020), Turkey exported jewelry worth over $3.75 billion abroad.
