BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. The Caspian Sea region plays an important role in ensuring the security of energy supplies, Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Gary Jones said at the 27th Energy Forum in Baku, Trend reports.
Jones noted that oil and gas resources will be in demand for coming decades.
‘Clean energy’ is in demand today, projects are being implemented and investments are being made, he said.
He also noted that it is planned to put into operation the Azeri Central East (ACE) development project at Azerbaijan’s Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) with a production of 100,000 tons.
Modern technologies are being introduced to achieve the maximum production of oil and gas resources, Jones added. "Modern technologies on ACE platform will reduce the release of hazardous waste, in particular methanol."
