BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan from January through May 2023 increased 3.6 times compared to the same period last year ($106.93 million), to $392.74 million, Trend reports.
According to the data of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC), during the reporting period Turkmenistan entered the top 15 countries in terms of trade turnover with Azerbaijan.
Turkmenistan's exports to Azerbaijan in the reporting period reached $354.42 million, which means an increase of 3.6 times compared to the same period in 2022, when it amounted to $96.34 million.
In this period, Turkmenistan's share in Azerbaijan's total imports increased to 5.18 percent, compared with 1.88 percent in the first five months of last year.
Turkmenistan also increased imports from Azerbaijan from January through May 2023 by 3.6 times compared to the same period in 2022. The volume of imports increased from $10.58 million to $38.32 million.
At the specified time, Turkmenistan's share in Azerbaijan's total exports amounted to 0.24 percent, compared with 0.07 percent in the first 5 months of 2022.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan amounted to $535.3 million in 2022.
