BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 26. Azerbaijan's current payment transactions are expected to reach $9.2 billion by the end of 2023, Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Taleh Kazimov told Trend.
During the press conference on changes in the discount rate parameters, he noted that by 2025, this indicator is expected to reach $7.5-7.8 billion.
"The reserves of Azerbaijan's strategic currency have increased by 12.7 percent and amount to $65.9 billion," he said.
The current account surplus for the oil and gas sector doubled and amounted to $28.7 billion in 2022 compared to 2021, while the current account deficit for the non-oil and gas sector decreased by 9.4 percent and amounted to $5.2 billion.
