BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 9. Elchin Aghakishiyev, who is currently an adviser to the president of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), became the new general director of the Caspian Drilling Company (CDC, its shareholder is SOCAR), an informed source told Trend.
Previously, the company was headed by Farid Akhundov.
To note, CDC was established in 1996 and carries out drilling work as part of large oil and gas projects in the Caspian Sea (work at ACG, Shah Deniz), operates various types of drilling rigs, in particular, Istiglal, Dede Gorgud, a semi-submersible floating drilling rig named after Heydar Aliyev.
CDC's activities also include the work of its specialists in the Mediterranean Sea on behalf of Israeli and Turkish companies, and other foreign projects.
