BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. Electricity production in Azerbaijan from January through February 2024 increased by 5.7 percent to 4,8 billion kWh compared to January-February last year, Trend reports, referring to the State Statistics Committee.
Out of the total volume, 4.7 billion kWh were accounted for as
marketable electricity (for all categories of users), which is 6
percent more than the January-February 2023 indicator.
According to the State Statistics Committee, Azerbaijan's thermal
power plants generated 4,5 billion kWh of marketable electricity in
the first two months of this year (6.9 percent growth), while
hydroelectric power plants produced 115.9 million kWh (20.6 percent
loss).
Because of the meteorological circumstances, wind power plants
generated 8.9 million kWh (5.3 percent less) and solar power plants
generated 8.2 million kWh (9.3 percent more) during the reporting
period.
