Azerbaijan amends membership in commission on lump-sum payments to war-disabled persons

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 2. Azerbaijan has amended the composition of the commission on lump-sum payments to war-disabled persons, Trend reports.

In accordance with an order signed by President Ilham Aliyev, amendments have been made to the order "On measures to strengthen social protection for military servicemen and internal affairs personnel disabled due to injuries (wounds, trauma, contusions) or illnesses sustained while performing duties related to the defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, independence, and constitutional order, or during active military service, as well as for their family members."

The Chairman of the Azersigorta OJSC has been removed from the Commission.

The military servicemen and internal affairs personnel who were found disabled due to circumstances outlined in paragraph "c" of Article 5 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Compulsory State Personal Insurance of Military Servicemen"—related to the defense of the country's territorial integrity, independence, and constitutional order before August 2, 1997—or their heirs, are entitled to a lump sum payment as follows:

- 8,800 manat ($5,176) for the disability of the 1st Group.
- 6,600 manat ($3,882) for the disability of the 2nd Group.
- 4,400 manat ($2,588) for disability of the 3rd Group.
