BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 17. Azerbaijan's Digital Document System (DDMS) has now integrated more than 1,700 organizations, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mamedov said during the presentation of the updated "mygov" e-government platform, Trend reports.
“As the country chairing COP29, Azerbaijan pays special attention to the introduction of sustainable and innovative digital solutions. One of these solutions is the Digital Document Management (DDMS) sub-module, which significantly increases the efficiency of processes and reduces the negative impact on the environment. Using DDMS allows government agencies to save more than 500,000 sheets of paper per month, which is equivalent to saving about 2,000 trees per year. Currently, more than 1,700 organizations are integrated into the system, which underlines its importance and success within the framework of state digitalization,” he said.
Meanwhile, a total of 63 state institutions that have received positive feedback on information security have been connected to the "Digital Document Management" subsystem as of September 1, 2024.
To note, under paragraph 8 of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On electrification of document flow between state bodies (institutions)” dated August 1, 2023, the Service is entrusted with providing an opinion on the compliance of the electronic document flow systems used by state bodies and the “Digital Document Flow” subsystem created by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport with information security requirements and providing them with secure telecommunication connection.
